Home Page - Transitions & Secondary page design

As I've written several times, I see more of the Vermont Partnership story being told via some form of home presentation, which transitions from one concept to another.  I assumed it would most likely take the form of some type of FLASH presentation.  After meeting with Melissa Whetherby this past Saturday, I'm not so certain.

Melissa explained that there are modules within the Joomla content management system that will allow an image to transition in much the same way as a FLASH presentation.  Plus, accessibility isn't compromised for anyone using a screen reader.

The slide presentation shown here offers image options for the various verb/noun combinations.  This is inexpensive stock artwork, that can be replaced as we obtain our own local or statewide photography.

The final slide in this presentation shows how a secondary page will look after the reader makes a selection from either the left- or top-navigation bars.  The Vermont Partnership wants to avoid scrolling, so text will need to be edited to fit across two columns of space.

I really need to finalize my Capstone Fair presentation, which must be ready for this Saturday afternoon.  (Not the best use of a Saturday in July, but that's another issue.)

Melissa also needs system administrator access and I need to begin sending content and the revised site map.  Still so much to do...
