Capstone summary - revise

I'm going with the following as a project summary.  It's longer, but I believe it better represents the "what" and "why" associated with the project.

The racial and cultural complexion of Vermont’s population is steadily changing.  Like all America, Vermont’s population is increasingly multicultural, multiethnic and multilingual.

This change compels us to look closely at how we assimilate people who are different into our community.  We need tools and resources to teach educators, business owners and political leaders how our communities are enriched when opportunities are freely given to all.

The Vermont Partnership for Fairness and Diversity (formerly known as ALANA) is a Brattleboro-based, education and advocacy resource, devoted to building fair and welcoming communities for all. It provides guidance to help communities overcome negative stereotypes based on prejudice and ignorance.

To grow, the organization must speak to a broader statewide audience.  This Capstone project will create a toolkit to extend the Vermont Partnership’s reach beyond Windham county: a refreshed website with a newly integrated brand identity, SEO optimization, social media engagement, and outbound e-mail marketing initiatives that speak to key constituent groups.

This project incorporates best practices gleaned from courses in HCI, Web 2.0, Change Management, Project Management, Marketing and Web Standards.
